BURC Drama Troupe
The BURC Drama Troupe is a group of amateur dramatists from Bethel United Reformed Church committed to providing quality family entertainment for the purpose of fund-raising, fellowship and fun. Our group consists of 6 members who pick the plays, bring together and direct the actors, advertise, gather and organize the props, costumes, stage setup, lights, sound, and makeup, and organize the dinner. (basically everything and we have the most fun). Our goal is to put on a play every other year, this production being our second. The proceeds from this Dinner Theatre went to a future Bethel United Reformed Church Youth Group Mission Trip and we raised $4,700.00 for them.
This year’s play was about the Belsnickle family and the feudin’ they get into as they try to marry off their oldest 3 daughters. With Pa and his rifle out to “wing ‘em “ husbands, it only gets funnier as a handsome stranger arrives from the city with a very civilized aunt, when their automobile breaks down in hillbilly country. This production took a lot of time and talent to put together. There was 18 actors, 8 crew members and lots of other help all from very talented members of Bethel’s congregation.
What will we do next time?....
Stay tuned to see!!
